PhillyJunk Helps Close Willow Grove Naval Air Station

Bala Cynwyd, PA September 15, 2011 — PhillyJunk, a family owned and operated residential and commercial junk removal company, was contracted to help prepare the Willow Grove Naval Air Base for the closing of their station. “Our job was to remove everything that has been left and no longer needed by other facilities,” states Marty Ingram, President of PhillyJunk. “After 60 years of operation and numerous buildings on the campus we removed a sizeable amount of material which included cleaning out airplane hangars, office buildings, barracks and other facilities. We used a variety of tractor trailers, flat beds trailers and various sized box trucks and a crew of about 15-20 men to remove all of the accumulated junk. We even removed the long standing naval base signs.”

“The junk removal project was extensive and utilized all of our commercial division resources at the time,” states Ingram. “All of the buildings had the power off during the removal and our crew had to endure the hot summer heat. On a personal level, it was bittersweet experience since I recall watching the Blue Angles air shows numerous times at the base” recites Ingram. This was one of PhillyJunk’s larger projects and the company was pleased the removal was executed in a timely fashion without any issues.
